We submitted a sample from lot 2030.12.25.03 for independent testing of microbial quality, four heavy metals and the humic profile that helps distinguish genuine shilajit. Here are the measured results—and the complete report behind them.

The laboratory identified the submitted sample as “Mongolian Altai Shilajit – 130g jar,” sample 260731-16198, lot 2030.12.25.03. The report covers microbial quality, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, lead, humic acid and hydrophobic fulvic acid.

How we read it

The laboratory reports measurements rather than adding a marketing verdict. We compared the safety-panel values with published USP dietary-supplement reference criteria and the 500mg daily serving used in our quality review. On that basis, the tested lot meets the reference criteria shown below. The fulvic result is reported separately as a measured composition result—not an invented universal purity grade.

Every safety-panel result falls within the published reference criteria used for this review. Composition testing also measured a substantial hydrophobic fulvic fraction: 18.7% of the tested sample.

APC was 200 CFU/g; yeast and mold were each below 10 CFU/g; all four specified organisms were reported absent.

For context, USP <2023> recommends no more than 10,000 CFU/g aerobic organisms and 1,000 CFU/g combined yeast and mold for botanical extracts or nutritional supplements with botanicals, with E. coli and Salmonella absent. APC here is 2% of that reference count; yeast and mold are each below 1%.

Compared on a daily-intake basis with USP <2232> dietary-supplement elemental-contaminant limits. Lead is the closest result at approximately 12.24% of its 5 µg/day oral reference limit. Method shown in the report: USP <730> by ICP-MS.

Why this test matters: “Fulvic acid” can be estimated with broad, method-dependent tests. The report cites JAOAC International 97(3):721–730, a peer-reviewed, validated gravimetric method that isolates a defined hydrophobic fulvic fraction using acid/alkali fractionation and DAX-8 resin, with ash correction. That makes the 18.7% result a more specific and defensible composition measurement than an unspecified “fulvic acid” claim.

There is no universally adopted minimum hydrophobic-fulvic-acid percentage that grades all shilajit. We therefore publish the measured 18.7% rather than inventing a universal purity score. The report labels this test OSHFAC_001 and states that “OS” tests were outsourced.
